Angela Rayner MP Resigns as Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. She resigned from the Government in September 2025 following a breach of the ministerial code in relation to a tax issue. ## 02/09/2025. Zack Polanski AM Elected Leader of the Green Party. He was elected Leader, defeating two Green Party MPs Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns, who had stood on a joint ticket by 20,411 votes to 3,705 votes. ## 01/09/2025. Rt Hon. Darren Jones MP is Appointed Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister. He has been appointed to this newly created Government Cabinet role.
